Padel and General Meeting Information

Dear Member,

You will have received notice of a General Meeting, which has been called to discuss the possible installation of 2 Padel courts and the approval of borrowing to carry out the project. Leading up to the General Meeting an e-mail will be sent by the Treasurer giving more detailed information regarding the proposed borrowing, including repayments.

Please be aware that there is an information board now situate in the Club Reception area, which gives more details of this potential project, with visual display and plans.

The Board's aim is to make Stourbridge a vibrant and progressive Club and to cultivate a dynamic sporting community that prioritises the health and well-being of every Member. We are always striving to promote and encourage the playing of sports for all ages, abilities and backgrounds for the local community. We have also considered where we want to be as a Club, looking at our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to our membership. The Board have considered how the project will impact on current members and also how it will attract new members and increase revenue.

The business plan has identified that Padel is the fastest growing racket sport in the world. The growth of the sport and participation nationally and worldwide has been identified and many other clubs, some locally, are expanding their facilities to include Padel. It is recognised by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) as their number one priority as an organisation.
