We hope you all had a restful weekend.
We’re kicking off the week with some exciting news — the wonderful Katie Eaton has returned to Stourbridge from the USA and is now available for Coaching sessions.
Meet Katie Eaton
For as long as she can remember, Katie has had a tennis racquet in hand. Starting her tennis journey right here in the West Midlands, she went on to play for Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in the United States. During her collegiate career, Katie was instrumental in transforming IUP from an unranked program to one of the Top 30 Division II women’s tennis teams in the country.
While at IUP, she consistently held the #1 spot in both singles and doubles, setting the record for the most singles wins in a season. Her achievements earned her titles such as Freshman of the Year (2010) and Senior of the Year (2013). She also helped lead the team to the National Championships — both as a player and later as an Assistant Coach.
After completing her time in Pennsylvania, Katie relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, where she continued to build an impressive coaching career. She served as a Lead Coach at the Asheville Racquet Club and later became Head Coach at the renowned Biltmore Forest Country Club. Alongside her coaching, she remained an active competitor, achieving a #9 national ranking in the Women’s 30+ Doubles category and winning several titles, including the prestigious Seabrook Island Open.
Now back home at Stourbridge, Katie brings with her a wealth of experience and passion for the game. As a PTR Certified Professional (equivalent to an LTA Level 3), she’s eager to work with players of all ages and abilities and to help grow our already thriving tennis community.
