"ATTENTION ALL TENNIS PLAYERS
At the Tennis Committee Meeting on 29th November it was agreed to trial two new doubles leagues - one all male league and one all female league. They will both be based on playing the best of two sets. If a set reaches 6 all then a normal tie break will decide the set. If the match is one set all then a championship tie break will decide the winner.
Normal tie break is the first to 7 with two clear points.
Championship tie break is the first to 10 with two clear points.
The new leagues will start on Sunday, 4th February 2024. The length of the league will be determined once it is known how many players wish to participate.
If you are interested in joining, please add your name, telephone number and e-mail address to the sign-up sheet on the Tennis Notice Board in the main Clubroom. You will also be asked to add which league you would like to play in by indicating the top, middle or bottom league.
It is anticipated that players will join as a pair, but if you do not have a partner please still express your interest so that single entrants can be paired together.
All standard of players are very welcome to join. Please do not be concerned with ability as you will be placed in an appropriate league and by joining it will hopefully improve your game.
