This Weekend! Open Day Schedule

Good evening everyone,

I hope you’re all well and have been enjoying the recent spell of lovely weather.

I’m just writing to share a quick reminder about our Open Day taking place this Saturday, 2nd May, and to provide you with the schedule for the day. I'm sure you're all sick of hearing about it, but we have a great day planned, and it would be fantastic to see as many members as possible coming along to support the club.

The Open Day will mark the official opening of our padel courts, with the Lord Mayor and our Chairman, John, carrying out a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 3pm. This will be followed immediately by an exhibition match featuring Kirk & Grant, alongside the fantastic Hart brothers.

We’re also delighted to be welcoming former Wimbledon third-round players Danny Sapsford and James Auckland, who will be delivering coaching sessions in partnership with Bright Ideas Tennis. They’ll be running both junior and adult sessions, and there are still a few places available—so if you’d like to join, please get in touch with the office to book your spot.

I’m personally really looking forward to the Mixed Doubles Tennis Exhibition Match at 5pm , featuring James and Danny alongside our very own coach Katie Eaton and Ladies’ Captain Jo Skym.

County Sports will also be setting up in the Clubroom, offering some great discounts for you to take advantage of. Dave will be bringing along a selection of Padel rackets to try out as well, so be sure to make the most of it!

Throughout the day, we’ll be raising funds for Black Country Women's Aid, with a variety of activities planned. Please do bring along some cash so we can raise as much as possible for this fantastic local charity.

Do bring your families along and join us for what promises to be a fantastic day at the club—and let’s all say a little prayer the sunshine sticks around!

Best Wishes

Annabel Goodby
